The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time launches for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026. Nintendo’s official title does not include ‘Remake’; check both the game name and the Switch 2 platform label when ordering.
The anniversary-edition Switch 2 console, Pro Controller and carrying case are dated October 29. Buying or receiving one of those products early does not include early access to Ocarina of Time.
Current US price and edition check
Nintendo’s US product listing currently shows a $69.99 physical edition. Regional prices, digital-store pricing, taxes and retailer shipping can differ, so treat that figure as the checked US listing rather than a universal checkout total.
The launch physical version’s textured foil packaging is a while-supplies-last detail announced in Nintendo’s trailer. Confirm that a retailer explicitly includes it if the packaging matters to you; do not assume every later copy has it.
Players, play modes and display features
HDR and VRR depend on a compatible TV and setup; their presence on the product page is not a promise that every display mode will look identical. A one-player listing also means you should not expect a co-op campaign.
| Item | Nintendo’s current US listing |
|---|---|
| Players | 1 player |
| Play modes | Handheld, tabletop and TV modes |
| Compatible-TV features | HDR output and variable refresh rate (VRR) output |
| Audio | Surround sound (linear PCM) |
| Extras | amiibo support |
| Age rating | Everyone 10+; Animated Blood and Fantasy Violence |
Download size and exact unlock time remain unconfirmed
Nintendo’s current US listing warns that information such as download size may not be final during pre-order, and we have not verified a final file-size figure. Leave flexible storage rather than planning around an unsourced number.
We also have not verified a game-specific worldwide unlock schedule or preload start. Check your regional eShop for the actual download option and countdown instead of converting an assumed midnight release into a launch timer.
Your first-day setup checklist
Nintendo’s October overview trailer is the latest official visual starting point. Our checklist is based on published information, not a review copy, performance test or verified dungeon route.
Watch Nintendo’s October overview- Confirm the game and any required system update before your planned play session.
- If using a TV, check its HDR and VRR support and the Switch 2 display settings before judging the image.
- Read the new control menu rather than importing N64 or 3DS button habits.
- Try movement, camera, quick equipment switching and motion aiming in a safe area.
- Find Threads of Time for the recap and current objective, then choose button or microphone input for ocarina melodies.
- Keep older walkthroughs as historical references until their routes are checked against the Switch 2 release.
