raxeris makes small, weird browser games, and 99% is the mission statement: one joke, escalated with real craft until it turns into something else entirely. The fake fixes are funny, the acts have some genuinely unsettling beats, and the nine-minute runtime means the ending lands before the gimmick wears out. One of the better 'one idea, executed' browser games around.
About 99%
99% takes the most universal digital annoyance — a loading screen that never quite finishes — and turns it into a small, strange horror-comedy. The bar is at 99%. You click to help it finish. It doesn't want your help. And the longer you stay, the more it knows about you.
Across five acts, the game slides from 'Reticulating splines...' into something that knows what time it is. There are six fake fixes — clear cache, restart router, download more RAM, pray — and the page promises they actually help. Sixteen popups. Decimals that stretch forever: 99.1, 99.12, 99.123, every click making the number longer. And there is a real ending, one the developer says is worth screenshotting — after which an endless mode unlocks where every digit is a slot spin.
A full run takes about nine minutes, saves automatically, works on mobile and plays in the browser with no download. Play with the sound on. The developer also offers 99% Deluxe — this game plus five more acts, four new endings, Speedrun and Nightmare modes and nine bar skins — with a free browser demo of its own, plus HELPDESK, NIGHT SHIFT, a free first night of the night tech at the office where 99 lives.
How to Play
Click or tap anywhere (or press Space) to interact with the bar. When the 'Taking too long? Try:' links appear, click them to spend your progress on fake fixes. Keep going — the ending exists, and the decimals are lying to you.
