"You're the only one we can count on now."
You're the eldest and the only one with a salary. Six paydays until Christmas, on the 15th and 30th, and each one has to cover the rent, the electricity bill, your mother Nanay's medicine, your sister's school fees, and a coloring book for Bunso, the youngest.
It's never enough for all of it, so every payday you choose what gets paid and what goes unpaid. Each payday is one night of play. Then you walk home and see what those choices did to your family. At home are Nanay, your father Tatay, your sister Princess, and Bunso, your little brother. At the start you pick who you are: Kuya (big brother) or Ate (big sister). Breadwinner is an everyday horror story happening all around us — play in English or Filipino, on your browser, on phone, tablet, or PC.
Content warnings: the game deals with mature topics that may be disturbing, including the illness and loss of a loved one, debt and threats from a lender, gambling, alcohol, eviction, and a child being bullied (mentioned, not shown). It shows some dried blood, but no gore. It is a work of fiction; any resemblance to real people, businesses, or events is purely coincidental, except for a few nods to content creators included with their permission. Made by Mithika Games for the Filipino Horror Game Jam 2026, theme Real Life Horror.
How to Play
Six paydays until Christmas, each one a night of play. On every payday you split your one salary across the household bills — rent, electricity, Nanay's medicine, Princess's school fees, Bunso's coloring book — and decide what gets paid and what goes unpaid. Then you walk home and live with the result: every bill you skip has a consequence, and everyone remembers what you paid and what you refused. The story runs through five storylines (the household, Tatay, Nanay, Princess, and Bunso), and each run lands one ending in each of them, so replaying is how you find the other sixteen endings.
Controls
PC: A and D to walk, click to interact, Escape opens the pause menu.
Mobile: Tap ◀▶ to walk, tap to interact.
Tips & Tricks
Your phone is a tool: use the Calculator app to crunch the numbers before you commit a payment, and remember the FYP feed and Bet67 casino are part of the story, not free time.
Every bill you skip comes back as a consequence, so there is no clean way to save everything — and never everything.
Sixteen endings across five storylines means one run is never the whole game; play again to see what the family does differently.
The game saves at the start of each night, so you can come back to a night later.
