They took her goat. Old Bleatrice was out gathering bones when the villagers stole Pickles, her beloved goat, to sacrifice to the god at the top of the mountain. Nobody takes Old Bleatrice's goat — so this free browser strategy game is the climb to get her back: through the forest, the village, the mountain castle, the ogre caves and the frozen heights, all the way to the summit throne.
You raise the dead as you go. Skeletons claw out of the earth to fight for you, and ghouls, bone archers, golems and wailing banshees join the ranks — fallen foes can be raised to fight on your side too. Bleatrice herself hurls soul bolts (click or hold to fire, and the Haunted Staff can learn to fire on its own), while the Grimoire lays out a star map of upgrades: blood magic, contagion, poison vials, acid rain, grave calls, frost and stolen thunder.
Every boss you defeat comes back as a pet familiar — a bear cub, a little hammer, a squire with a helmet too big for him. And rescuing Pickles is not the end of the story; the page promises it only gets worse. The browser version covers the whole climb to the summit, while the paid Windows full game continues into the burning mountain against Hadeus, Lord of the Underneath — and your browser saves come with you via the Move Saves menu option. How to Play
Click or hold to hurl soul bolts while your undead army fights alongside you; raise fallen foes to thicken your ranks.
Cast spells with 1–6 and spend upgrade points in the Grimoire (G) between fights.
Set the Haunted Staff to fire on its own so damage keeps flowing while you manage the horde and spells.
Defeat each area's boss to advance up the mountain — then collect them as familiars.

Tips & Tricks
Put the Haunted Staff on autopilot early — your clicks are better spent timing spells.
Use F to run the game at 2× or 3× when your army clearly outclasses a zone.
Raise every elite you can: more bodies means less micromanagement on the climb.
Don't assume the summit is the ending — the story explicitly continues past rescuing Pickles.
