Official Phantom Blade Zero PC specs, why a 145 GB game asks for 300 GB free, and what to check when the preload or first launch fails.

What each Phantom Blade Zero difficulty setting changes, which one to start on, and how Sixty-Six Days turns the story's countdown into a permadeath run.
Phantom Blade Zero is a single-player wuxia action RPG from S-GAME, built in Unreal Engine 5. You play Soul, a warrior framed for his master's murder and left with a wounded heart and sixty-six days to live. S-GAME calls its blend of Chinese martial arts and steampunk machinery "kungfupunk".
It is a full-price console and PC release, not a browser game. PlayBloo does not host it, and guides on this site do not imply a free playable version. We have not played Phantom Blade Zero; every page here separates publisher information from editorial advice.
S-GAME lists October 29, 2026, and unlocks the game everywhere at the same moment: October 28 at 7:00 PM PDT, which is October 29 at 10:00 AM in Beijing. Steam displays October 28 because it follows the US Pacific date.
Preload opened on October 26 at 7:00 PM PDT. Downloading early does not grant early access to the game.
Exact unlock time in your regionThe game is about 145 GB, but S-GAME asks preload users to reserve at least 300 GB of free disk space because the download and the unpacked files exist side by side until launch. Both published PC tiers assume an SSD and upscaling.
PC specs, the 300 GB question and download fixesWayfarer, Gamechanger, Hellwalker and Sixty-Six Days span a story-focused run to a permadeath challenge. Higher tiers change enemy behaviour rather than just damage numbers, and the last one is tied to the story's sixty-six-day countdown.
Compare all four difficulty modesMetacritic showed a score of 88 from 43 critic reviews when we checked on October 28, with the PlayStation 5 version at 87 and the PC version at 88. Steam's store page quotes IGN at 9/10, Wccftech at 10/10 and GamesRadar+ at 9/10.
We have not verified those individual reviews ourselves; the aggregate and the quoted scores are recorded here as published at the time of writing.
We are not publishing boss routes, weapon rankings or a beginner walkthrough before the game is playable in our hands. Those pages arrive only once we can check the content against a retail build. Until then, the two launch guides answer the questions players are asking now: when it unlocks and whether their PC can run it.
