AnimeBiz Magnate is a deep management tycoon about running an animation studio — not making anime as a creative act, but running the business that makes anime. You are a Producer: build a studio from nothing, become a legend, or go bankrupt trying.
The pipeline is the skeleton: license IP → commission script → assemble team → produce → market → air → earn → reinvest. License a popular manga and pay through the nose for the adaptation rights, or commission an original story and gamble on the unknown. Hire a superstar director or develop B-tier talent in-house. Form a production committee and give away half your revenue in exchange for a budget cushion, or self-fund the whole thing and keep everything.
Every decision has a financial, creative, and competitive dimension. The market moves whether you're ready or not; rivals air shows in your genre whether you like it or not; your staff quit if you work them into the ground. The v0.9.1 update rebuilt staff as individuals with specialties and genre preferences, added movies with their own funding and marketing (screens are a shared global resource, so rival releases compete for them), and made the NPC world live: rival studios, TV and streaming platforms, and distributors all have their own balances, costs, and losses — every payment you receive comes out of someone's account.
The free browser build is the demo, with about two hours of playtime — an early build whose balance is actively being worked on. A $10 Supporters Edition buys full access to all builds through launch, a Steam key at launch (estimated Q3 2026), and your name in the credits.
How to Play
Start as a producer with nothing and get your first anime made: license an IP or commission an original script, hire a director and a couple of animators, produce, market, and air. Watch the market and your rivals, keep staff workload sustainable, and reinvest the earnings into better talent, movies, and equipment. Every choice costs something — that's the vision.

Tips & Tricks
A director and a couple of animators are enough to make an anime — other roles are optional upgrades.
A production committee cushions your budget, but it costs half your revenue.
Movie screens are a shared global resource: time your releases against rival studios.
Don't work staff into the ground — they're individuals with specialties and genre preferences now, and they quit.
