Anyone who has watched a Mini Motorways city strangle itself on rush hour has had exactly this thought, and Multi Modal Transit builds the real answer: capacity you can route, not just roads you can draw. Two full cities is a generous free demo, and the roads-to-buses-to-trams-to-tube progression gives the puzzle a proper difficulty curve. An easy recommendation for network-building fans.
About Multi Modal Transit
Multi Modal Transit asks 'what if Mini Motorways had public transport?' — and then builds the answer. You design a city's transport network to keep up with a growing population: start with roads connecting homes to destinations, and as congestion builds, introduce buses, trams and eventually underground trains to move more people without adding more cars.
The browser version is a free demo set in London and Stockholm. The full game, on macOS and iOS, adds six more cities — Las Vegas, Venice, Rio, Mexico City, San Francisco and Amsterdam — each with its own map, architecture and transport mix, plus a shared Weekly city and a Sandbox mode with custom maps.
Mechanically it's about reading demand: buildings need residents, residents need routes, and every new line changes the flow. A title-screen tutorial walks you through roads, your first bus line, trams and the tube. Note that the demo is desktop-browsers-only — and per the developer, nothing is uploaded or tracked.
How to Play
Drag from a house to aim its driveway, then keep dragging to lay road, connecting homes to the buildings that need their residents. As demand grows, start bus, tram and tube lines, drag stops where they're needed, and keep adapting the network before congestion stalls the city. New here? The title-screen Tutorial walks you through roads, your first bus line, trams and the underground.

Tips & Tricks
Play the title-screen Tutorial first — it walks you through roads, your first bus line, trams and the tube in order.
Add public transport before congestion bites; the whole game is staying ahead of demand.
Underground tunnels are the answer when surface streets are already full.
Use F to drop the speed to ½× while you untangle a struggling line.
