There is a very specific comedy in watching an office worker bolt down a hallway at turbo speed, and CHAIR Champions commits to the bit fully — carpets as hazards, energy drinks as fuel, chairs as unlockable vehicles. Under the gag it is a properly structured racer: rounds, difficulties, power-ups and an unlock store that gives the wins somewhere to go. An easy recommendation for racing and action fans who want their velocity silly — and split-screen makes it a rare 2-player browser pick.
About CHAIR Champions
CHAIR Champions is an office-chair racing game: choose from 20 characters, sit down on one of 7 desk chairs and race 1 to 10 rounds against the clock or AI opponents, alone or in split-screen against a friend, across 5 tracks. The current 0.4.1.5 Halloween Edition dresses the season up with a Trick or Treat mode — collect as much candy as you can find in 45 seconds while ghosts haunt the halls.
Racing here is part movement, part resource juggling: keep an eye on your depleting energy and collect energy drinks to refill, snag power-ups like the Turbo Sneakers (a 3-second boost) and the Wheel Shield (3.5 seconds of protection from rugs and puddles), and whatever you do, don't drive over the carpets — they slow you down and can trip you clean off your chair.
Progress feeds an Office Store economy: earn in-game money from races, beaten records and seasonal modes, then unlock characters, chairs, tracks... and secrets. A minimap with off-screen chair indicators, an optional CRT filter for a 90s look, difficulty settings, a quickrace button with random setups and seasonal Easter and Christmas modes round out the package.
How to Play
Choose a character and a chair, pick your turbo setting, then race 1-10 rounds against the time or AI on five tracks — or bring a friend for split-screen. Manage your energy with drinks, use power-ups wisely, and avoid carpets and puddles that slow you down or throw you off the chair. Earn in-game money from races, records and seasonal modes to unlock more characters, chairs, tracks and secrets in the Office Store, or hit quickrace for an instant random setup (including locked content, but without payouts).
Controls
Player 1: Arrows / controller d-pad / left stick – move; Enter / controller A – sit & stand
Player 2: W-A-S-D (Z-Q-S-D in French) / controller – move; E or Space / controller A – sit & stand
Keyboard assignments between players 1 & 2 can be swapped in the options.
Tips & Tricks
Carpets are the real opponent — the pink outline marks them for a reason, and a fall costs more than a bad line.
Grab an energy drink before you run dry; an empty tank mid-race is a lost round.
Save Turbo Sneakers for straights and the Wheel Shield for carpet-dense sections.
Quickrace pays no money but lets you race locked content — use it to test chairs before buying them in the Office Store.
Super and Ultra Turbo multiply your winnings (x1.1 / x1.2) — worth choosing once you can finish races cleanly.
