Rei, Tashitokimashita. takes the most mundane gig-economy fantasy — easy work-from-home photo editing — and bends it into a quietly creepy comedy about faking the supernatural. The hands-on blending step is a nice touch: you are not just clicking through menus, you are complicit in every forgery. A 30-minute curiosity for players who like their horror satirical rather than loud, and one of the more original simulation premises in the catalogue.
About 霊、足しときました。 / Rei, Tashitokimashita.
In this Japanese-language simulation you take an easy remote job found on a crowdsourcing site: clients send in ordinary photographs, and your task is to have the "Reisha AI" add a ghost, then blend the result in by hand before delivering. Your finished fakes air on a TV show that collects "real" viewer-submitted ghost photos.
Each job is a series of decisions — where the spirit appears, what it is, how strongly it reads — and polishing the composite by hand raises your reward, which in turn buys better tools. The longer you stay in the business, though, the more the photos start containing things you never asked for.
It is short-form horror-adjacent comedy: around 30 minutes, three endings, no jump scares, autosave in the browser. Content notes from the developer: the game plays sound, includes brief screen-flicker effects, and its images, music and sound effects were created with AI support (graphics and sound by Manus, theme song by Suno).
How to Play
Read the client's request, choose where the ghost appears, what kind of spirit it is and how strongly it shows, then blend the AI-generated ghost into the photo with your own hands. Better composites pay more; spend the earnings on better tools. As the jobs pile up, pay attention to what starts showing up uninvited — how you respond to it decides which of the three endings you reach.
Controls
Point-and-click photo-editing interface — select, place and blend with the mouse. See the original itch.io page for the developer's control notes.
Tips & Tricks
Follow the client's instructions closely — better-matched fakes pay more.
Don't skip the hand-finishing pass; that final blend is what lifts your reward.
Reinvest in tools early — better tools open higher-paying jobs.
Stay with it past the first odd result: the three endings hinge on how you handle the uninvited guests.
