Plenty of jam games riff on pinball; very few make your hand a participant. Carbineball's cursor-as-character idea turns every save into a body check and every gap in your shooting into a lost multiplier, which gives the whole loop a much more physical feel than the genre usually has. It is a Ludum Dare build that plays tight rather than thin — recommended for leaderboard climbers and anyone bored of plain flippers.
About Carbineball
Carbineball is anttihaavikko's take on pinball, built solo from scratch in a weekend for Ludum Dare 60. The board will look familiar, but the way you touch the ball is not: your mouse cursor is basically a character on the table that can bump the ball directly, and it is equipped with two revolvers so you can also interact with it from range — the designer compares the result to Pong, Breakout and Arkanoid as much as to pinball.
Scoring runs on an arcade multiplier. Bumping the ball builds your multiplier, but it only keeps climbing if you shoot between bumps, and there is a sun bumper pad at the bottom of the screen that raises the multiplier while putting you one bad save away from losing the ball off the edge — which is, of course, game over. The board is split into three distinct sections with their own aims, and a rotating bonus game is picked every 30 seconds, paying out far more than normal play and nudging you to keep rotating.
There are also several characters and balls to unlock, each with unique bonuses, strengths and weaknesses, plus online leaderboards for the scorechasers.
How to Play
Move your cursor into the ball to bump it, and weave shots from your revolvers between bumps to keep the multiplier climbing. Chase the rotating bonus game every 30 seconds, treat the sun bumper as a calculated risk, and do not let the ball leave the board.
Controls
Move – mouse cursor (bump the ball by moving into it)
Shoot – your mouse buttons fire the two revolvers

Tips & Tricks
The multiplier only grows if you alternate: bump, then shoot, then bump again.
The sun bumper pad is the fastest multiplier on the table and the fastest way to lose the ball — approach it on purpose, not by accident.
Rotate objectives with the 30-second bonus game; camping one section leaves the biggest payouts untouched.
