Dreamium sits comfortably next to the Backrooms and dreamcore canon, but the real-dreams origin gives its spaces a specificity most liminal walkers lack. Yes, it's rough — that's disclosed on the tin — and the roughness reads as honesty rather than neglect. Worth it for players who treat walking simulators as meditation.
About Dreamium - Liminal Dream Simulator
Dreamium is a liminal dream simulator built from the developer's real dreams and the strange corners of the internet. You walk — that's the whole verb — through quiet, empty 3D spaces rendered in Three.js: fog, flat fields, impossible architecture, and the particular silence of a place that shouldn't exist but does.
This is a pre-release build: fewer than 20 dream levels are in so far, more are planned, and the developer is upfront that there are bugs — some of them intentional — plus minimal sound effects and no background music yet. The project is also slated to go open-source once the code is cleaned up.
For the curious there are secrets: a hidden level selector hides behind a code on the main menu, and a spectator mode exists for when you get stuck — or just want to drift through the dream unimpeded.
How to Play
Pick a dream and walk through it. There are no goals or fail states — the point is the atmosphere. Move with WASD, hold Q to walk faster, jump or swim with SPACE, and open settings and credits with ESC. If you wedge yourself into geometry, CTRL+Z+Z toggles spectator mode to set you free.
Controls
Move – WASD
Walk faster – Q (hold)
Jump / swim – SPACE
Settings & credits – ESC
Secret level selector – SHIFT+D+D on the main menu
Spectator mode – CTRL+Z+Z
Tips & Tricks
Some glitches are intentional — if something looks like a bug, it may be part of the dream.
Stuck in the geometry? CTRL+Z+Z spectator mode is there for the stuck and the curious alike.
The main-menu joke about not recommending Q unless your attention span is short is exactly what it sounds like.
