Run the Earth: Idle Runner is a cozy 2D idle and incremental runner built with Godot. Your runner never stops moving: they jog along automatically, you click the floating water bottles to keep them hydrated, and every kilometre you bank becomes Distance Points to spend on upgrades. The goal is written into the planet itself — 40,075 kilometres, one full lap of the Earth.
Growth runs through five upgrade tracks — Starting Speed, Acceleration, DP Multiplier, Hydration Power and Max Stamina — each with 20 levels at first. When stamina empties, your runner sits down for a four-second breather, so hydration matters. Maxing every track unlocks the Cloning Lab: your runner clones themselves, keeps every kilometre earned so far, and the new body raises the level caps to 40, 60, 80 and beyond. Permanent Clone Points buy lasting extras like a Water Drone that collects bottles while you are away.
The world scrolls through 41 regions — grasslands, deserts, snowy mountains, tropical forests, coastal cliffs and volcanic lands — with scenery shifting every 1,000 kilometres of credited distance. Deeper systems open over time: specializations, equipment, camp upgrades, badges, a talent tree and a best-run ghost. The developer balances the main journey at roughly two hours of active play, with no timer pushing you to the ending.
This is a free browser build in active development; the page discloses AI assistance for code, interface text and artwork, while character animation, scenery detail and sound effects are rendered procedurally. Progress is saved locally in your browser, and offline progress is capped at eight hours.
How to Play
Your runner moves and earns Distance Points automatically; click floating bottles to drink before stamina empties (an empty bar means a four-second rest).
Spend Distance Points across the five upgrade tracks — higher pace and multipliers mean faster credited kilometres.
Max every track to unlock the Cloning Lab, then keep cloning to raise level caps and stack permanent Clone Point bonuses like the Water Drone.
Total credited distance changes the scenery every 1,000 km across 41 regions on the way to a 40,075 km lap of the Earth.
Controls
Click / tap – drink a floating bottle

Tips & Tricks
Top up Hydration Power early — a stalled runner is four seconds of lost distance every time stamina empties.
The DP Multiplier track pays compounding dividends; every point of pace bought after it is worth more.
Buy the Water Drone perk before closing the tab — it keeps collecting bottles during the eight-hour offline window.
The developer recommends fullscreen, and it makes the bottle-tapping targets easier to hit.
