Robots have replaced everyone's jobs, so now you have free time… to do a little trolling.
The loop is simple and the joke is in the details. Chop wood to make paper, shoot down robot pigeons to collect the letters they carry, hide from a rain of arrows, and then screw with the letters to annoy the kings. One letter at a time, you bring both kings down to their knees.
Troll the King is a Ludum Dare 60 entry with a deliberately cartoon look, and it runs in the browser with downloads for Windows, macOS and Linux. The developer credits Sheepolution on code, Shores on art and Lazarus Richardson on audio, and the itch page states that no generative AI was used.
How to Play
Work the chain in order: chop wood so you have paper, shoot robot pigeons to recover the letters they carry, and dodge the arrows that come raining down while you do it. Once you have the letters, alter them so the message annoys the king — you need both kings brought down, one letter at a time.
Controls
Mouse + LMB – aim, shoot and interact (the only control the page lists)
Tips & Tricks
Paper comes before letters, so keep the wood supply ahead of the pigeon season.
When the arrows start falling, keep moving — the letters are not worth a hit.
The wording is the weapon: a neatly altered letter does more than a badly delivered one.
Both kings have to go down, so expect to work the pigeon-and-paper loop more than once.
