A quietly confident detective game that treats paper forensics like a contact sport — one forged stroke can flip a whole verdict. The Vietnamese-only script narrows the audience, but if you read the language, this is one of the most distinctive adventure releases to hit itch this week.
About Túi Ba Gang
Túi Ba Gang is a 2D side-scrolling detective adventure set in a feudal Vietnamese village quarter, told entirely in Vietnamese. Ten years ago, Mr. Thiện was convicted of illicit relations, his house confiscated and his son sent away — officially dead. Now a ghostwriter called Mười has returned to the old quarter, taking petition work at the tea shop by the alley, and only he knows who he really is.
Your evidence is paper: contracts, debts, verdicts, forged letters. One inserted character or a shade of ink that doesn't match is enough to flip an entire case. Findings go into a deduction notebook, and confrontations only let you carry a few pieces of evidence — choose the right ones, don't get greedy.
Each chapter holds one small case that gradually connects to the big one: the story opens with a prologue plus six chapters and several endings. The pentatonic soundtrack was synthesized from traditional instruments — đàn tranh, đàn bầu, sáo and mõ.
Progress auto-saves at the start of each chapter, the developer recommends headphones, and the game plays in the browser on desktop or phone. Vietnamese is the only language.
How to Play
Examine documents closely for tampering — a wrong character or mismatched ink can break a case open. Log deductions in your notebook as you gather testimony, then bring only your strongest pieces of evidence to each confrontation. Clear one case per chapter; every verdict pulls you closer to the truth about your father.
Controls
See the original itch.io page for the developer's control notes.
Tips & Tricks
Read every document twice — tampering hides in a single stroke or ink shade.
Bring only your strongest evidence to confrontations; slots are limited.
Progress saves at the start of each chapter, so verdicts are safe stopping points.
